While at Ohio Northern University Mr. Brown, participated in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program for the City of Lima, OH., which allowed parties with potential criminal matters to resolve their issues amicably and without formal charges being filed. Mr. Brown in his second year participated in the Street Law Program which was a program that focused on criminal as well as other legal issues that arise for high school students at Lima High School. Mr. Brown and his team would work with the students, families, and principal, to resolve the problems. The team would also hold classes every week at the school on current legal issues and prevention on entering the criminal justice system. Also, in Mr. Brown’s second year he received a position as a summer law Clerk at the law firm of Stewart, Joyner (Former State Senator Arthenia Joyner), and Jordan-Holmes in Tampa (Dissolved). Mr. Brown worked directly with all attorneys in the Personal Injury and Criminal Defense section. In Mr. Brown’s third of law school he was voted in as the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) president where he coordinated all BLSA events with the law school. In addition to holding office in his third year Mr. Brown also was a member of the law school’s moot court trial team where he and his partner advanced to the semifinal round of the competition out of twenty-four (24) teams.
Upon graduating law school, Mr. Brown accepted a position with Legal Services of North Florida (LSNF) (Gadsden County) and was admitted to the Florida Bar in July 2002. While at Legal Services Mr. Brown handled hundreds of cases ranging from Family Law issues to Consumer Matters. Mr. Brown worked at Legal Services for just over two (2) years until he entered private practice in 2004. Mr. Brown became a partner of Brown & Associates, LLC., where he primarily practiced Personal Injury/Wrongful Death, Criminal Defense, and Family Law. After just over one (1) year at Brown & Associates, LLC., Mr. Brown opened The Law Offices of Craig J. Brown, P.A., in April of 2005. Mr. Brown’s current areas of practice are Personal Injury/Wrongful Death and Criminal Defense Litigation. Mr. Brown has been on several panels to offer insight on criminal matters including the Florida Hazing laws. Mr. Brown is licensed in all District Courts for the State of Florida and tried hundreds of cases in the surrounding counties as well as throughout the state.
When not in the courtroom, Mr. Brown enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Antonia and their two children. They enjoy attending church as well as going to the movies, beach, fishing, and almost any other recreational activities. Mr. Brown also enjoys taking on the challenge of home DIY projects just as he loves taking on his cases. Mr. Brown and his wife are avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans and try to attend at least a couple of games per year, however, his son is an Atlanta Falcons fan and his daughter is more of a track and field fan.
